What is functional analysis?
Firstly the functional analysis can be performed on different types of objects:

The functional analysis combines the functional analysis of the need (or external functional analysis) and the technical functional analysis (or internal functional analysis). The first is used to identify the functions in interface with the object, the second to identify the functions of the subsets and components of the object.
